Recently I had a friend ask my why I buy AntsCanada test tubes when I can buy them in bulk from other places. I want to share my thoughts now with anyone on the fence about this product. If you're keeping ants, these are a must. AntsCanada's products are all very modular, fitting together and accessorizing with ease. So no matter what you buy they'll fit together. I used to DIY my ant setups and I would always have to do measurements, materials etc. I highly recommend doing that so you understand and appreciate formicariums, but when you do purchase, go AntsCanada. Firstly, the AC test tubes are plastic. You may think, "plastic is cheaper and cringe, glass is bougie." But when that nuptial flight comes and you cram 6 glass test tubes in each pocket and sit down for just a second-- Lets just say it's uncomfortable. Secondly, the AC test tubes have a little lip on the inside where the cotton ball stops. If you've ever used a glass test tube and jammed a cotton ball in it, you know the pain. Thirdly, the anti-roll pins. When you have a new claustral stage colony, barely hanging on to life and defying the odds by surviving (hyperbole), and you walk by and stomp a little and, WHAM!!!! They're rolling all over the place in your cupboard!! Eggs fly and larvae die, horrible. That never happens with AC test tubes. If you love your ants, ease of antkeeping, and willing to spend a little extra, go antscanada and have a 5 star antkeeping experience.
