The heat cable is designed to create a temperature gradient inside an ant farm. The ant colony can then thermoregulate and decide where to place eggs, larvae and brood. Providing a heat gradient for your ant colony is very important for the health and growth of the colony. Rated at 15 watts, it is among the lowest rated heat cables on the market.
This is perfect for ants and other small insects. The temperature of the heat cable itself will vary between 90° F and 105° F (32° C to 40° C). Temperatures drop in the surrounding area as you get further away from the heat cable. ELECTRICITY REQUIREMENTS: As shown in the included photos, the heat cable comes with a standard USA 110 volt/60 hertz plug. They are not designed to work in 220 volt/50 hertz environments (outside the USA).
